DIY Sony NEX - Nikon F mount adapter with reducer

I have made a Sony NEX (APS) - Nikon F mount adapter with a reducer lens. This gives you a nearly full circle fish-eye image with Sigma's 8mm fisheye lens.

This image is taken with Sony NEX-C3 camera, Sigma 8mm/F4 fisheye lens, and a readily available adapter. You see the image is cropped since the camera has an APS size-sensor.

Parts

The adapter consists of four parts:

  1. Nikon BR-3 ring (from yodobashi.com)
  2. Emolux 52mm close-up lens +8 (from dx.com)
  3. DIGITAL KING super slim protector filter 52mm (from amazon.co.jp)
  4. NEX 52mm reverse ring (from Discover photo)

DIY

First, we need to breakup the close-up lens and protector filter. We don't use the inner rings of close-up lens and the filter.

We also neeed to prepare four rings (ring-A) whose size is the same as the one of the inner ring of the close-up lens and a ring (ring-B) whose size is the same as the one of the outer ring of close-up lens.

We put ring-As and the close-up lens into the outer ring of the filter. Then screw the reverse ring and the filter ring putting ring-B between them. After that you screw the outer ring of close-up lens and the BR-3 ring.
